Day One of Filming (Especially for Willy and Alby)
Yes, at last the long anticipated re-imagining of LOTR (selected scenes) began. Locations had already been scouted and so no time was wasted in getting the desired shots (although we did make a quick call to the Chocolate Fish for a wee nibble much to the satisfaction of all involved).
We acquired our vehicle "lurtz" from an obliging rental company and he drove us far and wide (with the aid of fred) throughout the Wellington Region, even past Peter Jackson's house (where the windows were wound down and we saluted the master himself as the Top Gun Anthem blared out - don't worry we have that on film too!!).
Our first location of the day was Kaitoke National Park - the site of Rivendell, and due to our natural acting ability, all scenes were done in one take. We are ace!!

Look! Isn't that Frodo, and Gimli, son of Gloin?!
And here we have Samwise Gamgee and the very glamorous Legolas! Or is Elrond and Boromir?
After completing the council of Elrond sequence, the four actors were mentally and physicially exhausted. But undaunted, they set off for their next location, the river Anduin, where they filmed the very emotional breaking of the fellowship. Sally/Samwise was so involved in her role she almost fell into the river whilst chasing Laura/Frodo. However, all emerged unscathed, and triumphant in the work of cinematic genius they had produced...

I love it girls!! Makes me laugh (and feel all warm and fuzzy inside...sniff sniff!) everytime I remember the scenes and the cracking acting. For those of you who haven't seen this cinematic genius yet...well...all I can say is that you're in for a real treat!
What a wonderful way to leave your mark on Wellington ladies - the oscars are ever approaching! x

I HAVE TO SEE THIS! Post it online somewhere.
Indeed, the Oscars will come a-running. Please tell me that Fred was Gimlie?! Or at least Legolas seeing as it wouldn't have been much of a stretch to beat Orlando Bloom in the bad acting stakes and I'm sure he'll have managed it.
Everyone else Im sure, was truly award winning.

I was driving and it took all my strength to control Lurtz, he didn't like hills. I feel our recreation of the films was splendiferous considering our meagre budget so well done all.
Dodfather, you may wish to contact Dave to check out some of my previous films such as 'Sitting in the pub drinking n chatting' and 'Sitting in the flat drinking n chatting'. My performances are moving.
